At Floral Design by Heidi, August is a special month for us as we celebrate our amazing senior citizens. Because of their experience, expertise and dedication, our seniors deserve to be recognized for all of their lifelong achievements.
Senior Citizens Day - August 21
August 21 is Senior Citizens Day, a national holiday intended to honor the older adults in our lives. At Floral Design by Heidi, we celebrate our seniors all month long. Older people carry with them the wisdom and knowledge that takes a lifetime to learn, so it is important to show appreciation for all these great teachers. We’re offering a 10% discount on all flowers for the month of August for all our seniors to show how much we value their presence in our lives. Sons & Daughters Day - August 11th
Sons & Daughters Day also makes an appearance this month on August 11th. Time with our children can be fleeting, so National Sons & Daughters Day is a great opportunity to bring parents and children together for some quality time. On this day, let your children know how much they mean to you. Listen to the events of their day, share family stories, find out about their hopes and dreams and learn what inspires them. Just Because Day - August 27th
The month of August also brings us Just Because Day on the 27th. Is there something you'd like to do, but there isn't a reason or logic for doing it? Well, this is the day to go out and do something "just because". Here are a few suggestions to get you started:
- Take an unplanned vacation day
- Visit someone you haven't seen in a while
- Offer a stranger and act of kindness
- Buy something you don't need
- Jump in a puddle
- Skip instead of walk!
And, of course, the best idea is to send someone flowers "just because." Treat yourself, surprise your wife or delight your dad.
